“I just want my skin to look better… but still like my skin.”

That’s the starting point. Not filtered. Not overdone. A thoughtful approach to skin that still looks like you.

Microneedling can be part of that conversation. Here’s a little clarity on how it works, what a visit may involve, and why your plan should be personal.

So, what is microneedling?

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, prompting a repair response. Collagen remodeling takes time; changes develop gradually rather than at the moment of treatment.

At your consultation, we can talk about texture, the appearance of facial acne scars, and fine lines, then consider which concerns are a reasonable fit for treatment. The goal is a plan around your skin, not a promise that every concern will disappear.

No filler. No tox. Mechanical microneedling is a different approach. Our SkinPen® microneedling guide explains the treatment options offered at The Mile High Injector in Westminster, Colorado.

What to expect

Let’s keep this real and simple. Your experience and recovery depend on your skin, the treatment plan, and how you respond.

During your visit

We discuss preparation and comfort measures, which may include a topical numbing cream. You may feel pressure or vibration, and discomfort varies. Tell your provider about sensitivities and ask questions before you decide.

After treatment

Redness, tightness, dryness, peeling, pinpoint bleeding, or bruising may occur. Recovery varies, so follow the individualized aftercare instructions you receive rather than expecting every change to settle within a fixed window.

Results over time

Changes develop gradually. A series may be recommended, with progress reviewed along the way. The number of sessions, timing, and any maintenance should be discussed around your goals and response.

Planning around real life

Talk about upcoming events before scheduling. Allow time for visible redness or other temporary changes, and ask when to resume skincare, makeup, and your usual activities.

A personal approach

Not every microneedling plan should look the same. We keep the conversation focused on your skin, your concerns, and a pace that makes sense for you.

We’re not chasing perfection. We’re looking at the bigger picture. Sometimes that means:

  • Discussing a home skincare routine and when it is appropriate to use after treatment.
  • Considering a series rather than assuming one treatment is the whole plan.
  • Focusing on specific concerns, such as texture, the appearance of acne scars, or fine lines.

It’s never one-size-fits-all. We’ll also explain when a different approach may be a better fit. Radiofrequency microneedling, including Virtue RF, adds energy to the treatment and has a different risk profile; it is not the same as mechanical SkinPen microneedling.

Care that fits your routine

You may be balancing family, work, minimal sleep, or a routine that already feels full. Wanting to explore your skin options does not mean you have to take on a high-maintenance plan.

Start with what you notice and what you would like to understand. We can talk about the time involved, likely recovery, and the care your skin may need afterward, so you can decide what fits your life.

The honest truth

Microneedling isn’t a quick fix. It is an approach to discuss with realistic expectations and a longer view of skin health.

Results vary, improvement is not guaranteed, and maintenance may be needed. More treatment is not automatically the right answer; reassessment is part of a thoughtful plan.

No pressure. No rush. Just a conversation about your skin and your options when you’re ready.
